I hate the term unisex bathrooms. Uni means one, dammit. They should be bisex or omnisex bathrooms, dammit.

Everyone knows that words only can have one meaning and that meaning has been set in stone from the beginning of time. Gender ===== Sex. EOD.

(The extra ='s are for checking for equivalency in the past, and future.)

Also, lots of ****ing and sucking in this thread ... jerkoffs ... things being put in HC's mouth ... given the above rule I can only conclude I've stumbled into an orgy ...

Wait, what makes you think I'm looking for them? I don't hang out with the social justice warrior types, not if I can avoid it.

EDIT: I think I read your post wrong. I'm not upset by them. I just think they're ridiculous.

Okay, I have to disagree with that, because I think the pronoun is a statement of actual biological sex, in particular because it can and usually does reference things that are biologically pertinent to sex and not what you consider the cultural concept of gender.

As I said, it's a choice on my part. But... I disagree that pronoun use usually refers to biological sex. If we see someone in the distance, odds are the pronoun we're using to identify the individual is based on our cultural conceptions of gender: how long their hair is, what kind of clothing they're wearing, whether or not they have makeup, etc.

Biological gender is only relevant for bearing children.

Aside from wanting to "keep women in their place", why would anyone have a strong opinion on the matter?

Gender has a genetic basis. Our 'gender roles' are an extended cultural phenotype, but still derive directly from genetics. They might be the product of the majority of dichotomous gender individuals who millennia ago formulated and sustained and continue to sustain the gender roles, but gender is not a social construct, unless you accept a very weak interpretation of social construction.

People uncomfortable with their own sexuality are generally disturbed by the sexuality of others. You'll see for reg and HC, it's not just an issue with gender definitions, but with sex in general. Just look at their few discussions of women which are either about how uncomfortable they feel about them or simple objectification tropes meant to establish their hetero-normative credentials. I blame this more on an attempt to fit certain social roles that they feel are superior because of their superficial presentation. They will likely gravitate toward people with similar predilections who will create a self-sustaining cycle fueled by one-upmanship until their gay sons are caught in the act tanking an otherwise promising career in Nebraskan politics.

I just wanted to use the word hetero-normative in a sentence and just kept going.
