So, I've watched a bunch of videos of this game now to decide whether to buy it and I have a few observations:

              - The graphics are pretty bad.

              - The NPC AI is dodgy as ****. E.g. you pull out a gun at a marina and everyone panics, falls into the water and drowns. Other stuff like NPCs wasting time running away from you by vaulting over traffic cones instead of walking around them, or taking the ****ing crosswalk when crossing a road. That's retarded. GTA NPCs didn't do that ****, neither did the AC NPCs.

              - The story looks pretty stupid and loaded with holes like chicken wire.

              - The developers treat the background fluff stuff like their own personal editorial space. Stuff like people's conversations, texts, background information you pull up with your 1337 hacking skills, that sort of thing. It's one thing to try to use your main story to make a point, that's fine. Throwing in what amount to snide remarks about various issues in the background comes off as way more preachy and condescending. When it's part of the main story it's trying to persuade you. That's great. This way it's just saying if you disagree with us you're not welcome in our club; don't play our game. Okay Ubisoft, I get the message, you don't want me. I'll keep my $60 if that's what you want.

e: the best way to describe it would be "passive-aggressive."

Rockstar's schtick is to take a movie genre and make a sandbox game out of it, stuffing in all of the common plot points, tropes, and cliches into it in one big mish mash. So the game becomes a highly conventional western/gangster/noir/whatever film but in video game form. It's really good.

                  sensitive are we?

The graphics CAN look nice. I mean, look at the screenshot where I have all settings maxed at 2560x1600. There's an incredible amount of detail.

Unfortunately, they released probably the worst console part to date.

But despite needing to downgrade gfx settings a bit, the game on PC still looks better than consoles. They are stuck with 792p and 900p at 30 fps. Consoles are all but crappy PC's without the freedom of control a PC offers. (I regularly game on PS3, btw... slower doesn't necessarily mean boring)

I can run it at more than double the resolution the xbone can and at higher settings with a faster framerate.
One of the dev twitter feeds says both console versions run at the equivalent of high settings.
I'm at mostly ultra... but without the fancy AA setting.

Hopefully, ubi and nvidia will release some software updates soon to remedy this situation.

Overall, this might be a worse launch than Simcity.

Wasn't Asher calling you a moron for disagreeing with him saying the xbox one would outperform PCs and similar specs because all its components are on "one die" or whatever

A machine built for the same cost of XB1 on release can at least run 1080p, high settings, 60fps (give or take)

and computers are his JOB too

but that's why I don't rule out trolling

No, not really, it's not enough to make me not buy the game for one thing. I just think it's ham-fisted and ****ty writing.

This is why I'm not buying the game:
