A ridiculous thread from Kentonio? Well I never. Also what Gribbler and TMM have said.

Don't even joke about mercury. I know coworkers at an old job who were paralyzed or blinded by that stuff.Originally posted by Dauphin View PostMercury.

Okay, you can joke about it, but try to stay away from it.

Molten brass, 2100 F. Also, it was a "centrifugal casting mold", which sounds like a metal mold that uses spinning to keep the thing being molded hollow. The explosion was later found not to be, but was suggested because a wall got blown out.Originally posted by -Jrabbit View PostI'm really hopeful that the molten metal in question was ferrous. Otherwise this thread is useless and the story, pointless.
My guess is, a large centrifuge with a mold full of molten bronze probably partly or completely broke free of its moorings, broke a wall, and injured six workers, four of whom went to the hospital and none of whom had life threatening injuries..

Uh, I don't want liquid mercury spraying all over me. Fumes.
And liquid Gallium isn't fun either. You want stains all over yourself?
