Watch closely. There is a short burst of water from a hose just before the mother runs over. The cat got hit with the spray as the mother turned around, ran and collided with the dog -- note how the cat sideswipes the dog rather than hits it head on. It immediately assumes a ready-to-run stance as it shoots a look at the mother, not the dog, and then bolts behind the car, which is only coincidentally the way the dog had just gone.

There. The sanctity and dignity of cat evilness has been preserved.
