$0 at this point
The payments from that sort of thing tend to be a % of income off your work. So it's an easy way for a new website to generate a lot of content and get a lot of exposure. Since they basically get an army of internet writers that they don't have to pay wages. Then later on they'll modify the agreements and stop paying out even the royalties. (This is how almost all the pay to post article sites have worked in the past... eHow was the biggest.)
I have more respect for sites that straight up tell you you'll get nothing for your work in making them rich (like Wikia) than those that use bait and switch.

With that attitude you will never be able to claim this:
Blogging and the internet has well and truly changed my life…
Thanks to the work I put in over the last few years I have generated over a million dollars from the Internet.
I’ve purchased a half million dollar inner-city apartment in Brisbane Australia where I live, investment properties, a BMW and helped support my family.
In 2008 I packed up my laptop, got on a plane and traveled around the world, stopping in 23 cities over 8 months. I started in Fiji, then headed to Hawaii, Vancouver, Toronto, Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, Winnipeg (to visit my grandmother), Montreal, Quebec, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, Athens, Dubai, Singapore and then back home.
For the owner of worlds premier Greek Civilization site, you are too pessimistic.

Travel-blogging isn't a scam ... it's a lotto! You win it by realizing travel blogging is hard work and your income can go *poof* without a moment's notice ... and thus graduate into the much more lucrative business of "teaching people how to make money travel blogging" blogging.
I prefer to make my money online the old fashion way ... teaching people how to breed their dragons together (that money can go *poof* in an instant too, but only if people stop having urges to breed their dragons together!)
