  • I congratulate our new Chinese overlords

I did not expect them to start ruling us so quickly, but hey, who is complaining?

China is poised to leapfrog the US as the world’s largest economy, while Australia is the fourth-most expensive country to live in, according to data released by the World Bank.

The bank's 2011 International Comparison Program survey, released overnight, showed only Switzerland, Norway and Bermuda had higher price level indexes than Australia in that year.

Based on the survey, one of the world’s most respected publications, The Economist, has calculated China is on track to overtake America’s share of global GDP by the end of this year - far earlier than previously dominant predictions centering on a shift later in this decade.

Only idiots would have expected otherwise, so not really newsworthy
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

When someone can breath with out a mask on anywhere within 50 miles of their cap, then I'll be impressed.

List of countries by GDP (2012):

        USA: $16,244,600
        People's Republic of China: $8,358,400

It's all about the coal burning power plants. Apparently, 3 Gorges did not get the pollution bonus because the US finished Hoover Dam first.

The Economist likes putting things in terms of PPP (purchasing power parity). This would make the Chinese absolute numbers appear much better. In any case, power is power. Things change. Get used to it.

There is a reason why everyone grudgingly accepts the Lannisters.
