    Good.

But, eh. While Link Between World are new, Link's Awakening is from '93 or so.

There's Link's Awakening and Link's Awakening DX (Deluxe). They are the same except DX is in color and has a bonus dungeon.

also, I got Animal Crossing New Leaf because it looks like you just run around and build/customize stuff... seems like a good time waster. Anyone have thoughts about it? I generally don't see much hate leveled against it, so I figured I'll give it a shot. If it sucks, I can always give it to one of my many little cousins.

The other night we were all watching TV, everyone was on their phones except me. During commercials, I thought to myself, "a 3ds would be pretty awesome right now".

We'll see. Hopefully I don't get too much **** for it. God forbid I try to text someone while we watch TV everyone plays on their phone

I played the first animal crossing. I hated it. But it's a bit like knitting in video game form. It's really easy to pick up and play for like 15 or 20 minutes at a time. It's not the kind of game that you get addicted to and play nonstop (usually. YMMV, some people get crazy addicted to it). Which means it may be perfect for handhelds. But I haven't played the 3DS one.

If you haven't played any of the 3d zelda games, try Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. You can get them for the GameCube if you don't have a Wii. You could probably also get a used copy of the Ocarina of Time remake for 3ds on the cheap. I think you'd probably hate Skyward Sword. I liked it, but not as much as any of the other 3D zeldas.

                roger that

Sounds like the way I play Minecraft... maybe 15-20 minutes at a time... finishing some pointless (and terribly done) project. Yes, very much like knitting.

I always wanted someone to knit me a banana hammock

I had a major DanS in that post, you should probably read the rest too. (Sorry)

Nintendo should hire me as a salesmen. I've gotten like 3 people to buy 3DSs now. (A friend, Wiglaf, now Sava)

I believe there exists an Ocarina of Time and a Wind Waker here. I wanna say, the only 3D Zelda I've played is the one for N64.

When N64 came out, I really hated the controls and camera angles in Mario 64 (and still do). That game was unplayable for me. It was a 3D platformer that relied on your ability to change direction and make difficult moves in space. The camera controls especially were just too awful for me to deal with. I had the same experience with 3D Zelda and gave up on all those games.

And I don't hate 3D games or anything. GTA series, for example... 3rd person, 3D. Cubeworld (despite it not being supported well by the dev) is the game most like the 3D Zeldas that I like.

Though, I do find the mouse+keyboard controls to be better than a controller.

                      Thanks again for the responses.

                      You sold Wiggy? That's impressive.

The newer games have smoother controls, including the OOT remake. There's also gamecube emulator for those with questionable ethics. I confess to having Wind Waker on a gamecube emulator on my computer, but I also own a physical copy of the game.

Hope you enjoy your 3DS and new games. If for some reason you don't, please don't hunt me down and break my arms or anything . I really liked all the games I recommended, but of course YMMV.

Skyward Sword made me viscerally angry. Recommending Twilight Princess for the gamecube because Link is still left-handed in that version.

Skyward Sword made me angry too simply because it was a much much better game than twilight princess in almost all respects, except that the controls were terrible. It was a great game hobbled by one really stupid idea.

                              emulators

Dolphin is good (I think that's the GC one). I like how you can add anti-aliasing... and increase the resolution just by expanding the window.

The graphics look better than the original GameCube

I suppose I should start reading up more on 3ds and stop pestering you with questions. But here's one more.

In passing, I read that roms can be loaded on the 3ds. Have you done this?
