You don't think other species are inferior? Are you a vegetarian? I'm sure that predators believe their prey are somewhat inferior.
Nope I'm not a vegetarian. It all comes down to how you consider superiority/inferiority. I don't think other species are inferior to humans in the sense that we have some special privilege to do what we do, simply that we were fortunate enough to be in a truly unique position in the evolutionary chain. We're omnivores, we eat other animals, and in a purely predator/prey sense you could call us superior, but without the herbivores and the plants and the rest of it, we don't exist. I'm just happy to enjoy our good fortune.
He is known for the slogans that he and his ministry use against people he deems sinful. His church is built around a core of anti-homosexual theology, with many of their activities stemming from the slogan "God hates fags", which is also the name of the group's main website. – He does not know what he’s doing. Probably at this point in time he is now contemplating of all the wrongs he have done.
Probably he is a demented old fool, slobbering into his morning gruel.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
Of course we're special you blind biddy. Other species adapt genetically over eons, we adapt mentally in moments. Instead of growing a thick layer of fur, we kill another animal and use its skin. Instead of having longer limbs, we use tools to extend our reach. Instead of a huge complicated gut, we use fire to process our food. We can share our adaptations with other humans through symbolic communications and we can preserve these adaptations in writing for future generations. Using these techniques we have explored and settled almost every biome on Earth, and maintain a constant presence in the desolate void of space. We are so ****ing different from every other animal that ever existed that only someone as retarded as you would ever bother denying it.
We can (probably) invent a poison that could kill them, but we just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Humans are pretty rad, no doubt, but you really have to define your terms well to figure out how. In terms of survivability, things like water bears have us beat. In terms of biomass, we lose out to, apparently, krill. In terms of the ability to kill every living mother****er around us, we're pitiful compared to the cyanobacteria. In terms of longevity, we lose out to various species of turtles and trees. In terms of population count, we lose out to the contents of our stomachs. Yes, it's technology and culture that set us apart from other species, but not because of their impact on our survival or reproductive success. Rather, it's that we've invented so many goddamn things we can do with our lives that have absolutely nothing at all to do with survival, such as practicing religion, smoking pot, or bull****ting on Poly. That's what makes us so rad.
