I thought I'd start a more serious thread for a change. If we survive the upcoming war, and furthermore the internet survives it would be interesting to have a source for all of the buildup information from the news for re-analysis. So if you see a news story that talks about strategic movements of supplies, armies, etc. Post it here for future reference. Now I want only public information via the news. Although it would be interesting to note what is going on in individual countries via personal experience, we should probably not tread there. I for one have noticed quite a bit of logistics movement, so i think something big is going on, but lets keep it to the news snippits.
Examples off the top of my head be nice to reference these if anyone wants to:
*10,000 unmarked soldiers move in to Crimea without confrontation
* Russia Parliment approves sending troops to Crimea at Putins request
*Destroyer in Cuba (possible a first strike weapon for Russia against USA central gov't/command)
* Russia moves an additional 15,000 troops to Crimea
* Russia has 150,000 forming on standby outside Ukraine
*NATO sends fighter reinforcements to Eastern Europe
*NATO starting 24/7 recon flights over Ukraine
*Russia sank 3 of its own ships to block harbor
*Russia takes by force several Ukraine bases in Crimea
*US drone brought down by Russia in Crimea
*Estonia and others warn of movement of troops for an invasion of Eastern Ukraine by Russia.
*United Nations Envoy chased out of Crimea by Pro-Russian Protesters
*Russia play wargames outside of Ukraine for training
*Ukraine referendrum for annexing Crimea to part of russia
*United Nations attempts to vote for measure to condem Russian behavior in the taking of Crimea, is vetoed by Russia which is a permanent member of the Security Council.
*Ukraine says Russian Forces take a village near the border, with helicopter gunships and armored vehicles
*US Aircraft Carrier group in Mediterranean to stay longer
*10s of thousands protest in Russia against annexing Crimea
*US Navy Destroyer in War Games in Baltic Sea.
Anyone seeing a pattern here?
