Trying to relate to the common man, who supposedly yearns for a return to the Eisenhower years.
Plus, emotional appeals are such a convenient substitute for thoughtful analysis.

Just ask Paul Ryan, who used the same technique yesterday at CPAC...

Yeah, I read about that one.

At least Jindal used an anecdote drawn from (presumably true) personal experience.
Ryan went with more of the Rand Paul method.

Why are you blaming the politicians for this and not the drive-by media and people who accept this crap.

Dude, I was answering a question from MrFun:

why bother with telling an irrelevant, homespun homily?
And, umm, the statements were made by politicians. Are you saying they are not to blame for what they say?

Jeez. Your reading comprehension and critical thinking skills are pathetic.

Mr Fun really is the worst poster on this forum, and Oerdin posts here

Are you seriously suggesting that it's wrong to blame politicians for their own statements?

Of course, that would then imply that you are not responsible for your own statements either -- which actually could explain a lot.

I don't blame people for saying things they aren't saying or for making honest mistakes etc. This is a piss poor substitute for a civil society.

Just got a 1500 dollar bill for an mri. I have insurance but it has a super high deductable but I also have HRA that covers 80% of my deductable. Bill will still be about 800. Sucks.

And the worst thing is it was diagnostic to 2 fainting spells I had in the past 8 months. Nothing abnormal. It's like, jesus I'm paying 800 dollars for nothing I don't already know. If this continues and I die then i'll have wasted that money.
