I guess Ben finds it appalling that American revolutionaries organized in violent, military forces in their fight for freedom from Great Britain?

When an overwhelmingly oppressive government such as the apartheid regime of South Africa, blocks off all avenues for peaceful means of protest and organizing, and uses violence to stop peaceful protests, what is left?

Dying presumably- so that smug, comfortably off tossers who enjoy all the freedoms that all those who weren't white under the apartheid regime's minority rule didn't have, can still feel morally superior to those who took up arms when all other means of protest were denied them.
