  • Having trouble managing my E-mail

I get blizzards of it, and I'm not talking about spam. Anyone else have this problem?

I tend to follow Napoleon's dictum. He didn't open his mail for two weeks, claiming problems just disappeared. In other words, subordinates just got on with their jobs and fixed things.

I'm on leave at the moment but the spigot is still open. We are rarely alone and left to ourselves anymore. I particularly enjoyed holidaying at a place where there was no mobile phone coverage. But these modern phones tether you anywhere.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

My current total is 5448 items in my inbox, of which 1161 are unread. Incoming volume averages about 130-150 daily to my email client, covering 4 accounts.

It will take a couple days to get it under control again. Maybe over the holidays...

I had a slow day at work last week before the holidays.
My inbox started with about 5500 but I got it down to just under 500.

“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
