Obama has been a serious disappointment, but I'm really, REALLY pissed at Cameron at the moment. The only upside is I get to look across at your GOP and see that things really could be a lot worse.

$85 billion a month in brand new money being created and thus devaluing the dollar and idiot democrats just keep saying :Obama's a genius! See? You Republicans are stupid!"

Well, fine. Why don't you try thinking through where all this "success" in the stock market is coming from.

The sad thing is that wasn't even remotely partisan as several high ranking ELECTED Republican officials have said the exact same thing! Repeatedly. Especially after the tea party government shut down.

I don't know which is more sad, the truth about how one party currently works or how you want to label the truth as partisan.

Canada has no such thing as QE and their debt level is much lower than that of the US. However, 2 year chart of CAD vs USD shows a decrease of 3.79%. In addition, US inflation has been under 3% for the last 3 years. No real indication of USD devaluation…..

Maybe if you weren't such a notorious partisan I may have actually read your post.

That's the problem with being partisan --> Zero credibility on anything political. Zero.

              Get the point now?

I never read Oerdin's political posts. They are too predictable (see the "boring" comment).

I'm not uppity as I couldn't care less what a partisan says on political topics (see the circle now?). Partisans have no credibility hence not worth the effort.

It was the point I was making, dude.

What would you know about Brain?

Seriously, the long term implications of the QE could be pretty serious. The only thing that has made it viable to this point is the fact that the rest of the world's currencies are doing poorly as well. That and the fact that the world has to have dollars to trade oil and use as a reserve currency.

I honestly believe that the folks at the fed believe that they can use the bonds they now have on their balance sheet now to help control the money supply in the future. For that to be a good idea we would certainly need robust growth. I just don't see the U.S. producing the kind of growth that we need to get out of the hole we are in...that's the real point.

UM...no indication of "relative" devaluation would be more correct. However, I guess I should have been more specific in saying that this will "lead to" devaluation as other curriencies recover against the dollar. Unless we have robust growth, this is nearly inevitable.

The whole point in doing QE is the dollar hasn't been "devaluing" enough. Compare the CPI figures since the recession with the pre-recession trend.

The Fed's restraint in devaluing American currency must come as a great relief to people living on stagnant wages and fixed incomes.

Especially when the Fed's restraint is causing so many people to have stagnant wages. I'm glad they won't have to worry about inflation and dollar devaluation lowering their living standards!!!!
