As for here ... estimates for our power being back on are 1 month ... or 2 months ... or 6 months. So basically no one knows.
We've got our generator set up to power the house now. We're charging cell phones and flashlights for family/friends/neighbors. A lot of people were over here to watch the news this evening. It's nice to have the lights back and be able to have the electric fan going.
Charging a big car battery while we run the generator, then will run some lights and chargers off of the battery once we turn off the generator for the night.

Yeah the biggest problem with carbon credit stuff is that even if we hamstrung our economy to the point where we were environmentally neutral or whatever, we'd still have to tell the Indians and the Chinese and the Africans **** you, you don't get to live in the modern world with reliable electricity and motor transport and clean water etc etc because of global warming. They're going to say **** you right back and keep on trucking, as they have every right to.
