  • Does anyone own a Soda Stream carbonator system?

If so, do you love it? Like it? Hate it?

I'm thinking about investing in one; not sure if I'll like the beverages though. Being able to sample some would be nice.

    Hmm, what's your estimated ROI?

No, I just can't get excited by that invention as I don't often drink much soda. I have recently discovered Bundaberg Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic) and I have to say I will never be able to drink that crappy American Ginger Ale ever again. Once you've had the good stuff you can never go back.

I tried that, it's pretty good. I found it at Costco.

Have you tried Stewart's Ginger Beer? Somewhat sweeter, but much spicier and goes down like liquid fire. I couldn't get enough of it in college.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

No, I'll have to find a store which sells it. That's a good tip, thanks.

Personally, I really liked that Bundaberg wasn't too sweet (for a soda) and I really liked the strong ginger flavor but if there is an even stronger tasting ginger beer than I'd be all over it.

I haven't had any in years. Just can't find it outside of New Jersey, even though the other flavors show up here.

Ah, but one of the advantages with something like Soda Stream is that you no longer have to buy cases of bottles/cans of your favorite beverage. Meaning: less stuff to lug from grocery store to home, and less trash to get rid of as well.

Soda Stream also claims to save money for customers that invest in it but not sure how solid that claim is.

I'm still looking for a good birch beer and a true sarsaparilla.

They still have a website: http://www.drinkstewarts.com/default.aspx

And they still list their ginger beer on the website (saying it is Jamaican style, what ever that means).

                      Yeah. It's cruel.

Jamaican style means its sweet and strong and goes down like liquid fire.

I would just get Reed's Extra Ginger at Trader Joes

I've actually seen that at TJ's before but I've never bought it before. I will have to buy a 6 pack next time I am in TJ's.

When the grocery store has a deal like 65% off on the soda I like I just buy all of the boxes in the store and stockpile it for a while. It's cheaper than a soda machine.
