I think it's a bad decision. I think they're ugly. If people want to get them, fine, but if they want my opinion, my opinion is: don't ****ing do it.

And since it's rare for a tattoo to be photorealistic, he'll be the only one who knows WTF that is. People will assume it's his gay lover.

      So, good luck to him.

I think tats are stupid and ugly too. I don't "hate" them. People can do what they want. I'm not going to protest outside of tattoo parlors. But if asked, I'll answer honestly. The body looks better without ink.

I feel like if hc had a child and that child got a tattoo he would feel he failed as a parent.

Tattoos are no longer counterculture when grannies are getting them.

It's time to move on from this fad.

Failed is too strong a word, but I would certainly think I'd made a mistake somewhere along the line.

                The Johnny Cash one.

You don't want dark areas in the face, they come out very black on the tat from what I've seen.

Have you got a cite for that? I'm thinking a slander suit on behalf of his family might be a good idea, if you fail to produce one.

If someone came to me for an interview with visible tattoos/piercings I'd reject him without even shaking his hand and I know I'm not alone in this perspective (it has been articulated to me by my coworkers in multiple places).

Since I've written this instead of spoken it, we'd be talking about libel and not slander.

But regardless, the case wouldn't even make it to court. Vulgar abuse is protected speech. The venom I spew is not intended to be taken as truth. No reasonable person would believe anything I say.

I figured you would know this by now.

But you sit at home all day and rape the children of illegal immigrants... perhaps that distracts you.

I'm sure the fourth option will be photorealistic

Do you actually think a tattoo indicates that someone is somehow unqualified for a job?

Yes, because there's no better predictor of job performance than mild deviation from local, temporary cultural norms.

(Btw, I think tattoos, piercings, jewelry, makeup, and putting more than three seconds of thought into what you put on each morning are pretty silly. But somehow I don't hold it against people if they think otherwise.)
