People are usually proud of things that they have or can do that most other people are unable to have or do. Most people in the world are heterosexual. Like most people in the world can walk and breathe at the same time.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Takes a lot of courage to admit that, doesn't it?

It does seem that trans people get the short end of the stick - for example, apolyton has a lot more posters who openly hate trans people than that openly hate homosexuals. It probably doesn't help that it's often possible to physically identify and single out a trans person, eg a man with disproportionately large hips or a woman with a dispdoportionately large jaw. You can often identify and single out homosexuals eg a man rollerblading in a thong or a woman dressed like a lumberjack, but that's not the same thing.

Apolyton has (had) one trans person who was quite famous around here. But no one knows they're trans really. Very few people here...

I use to have some interesting talks with Starchild.
He would be honest help me to understand the gay community.
Nice guy, wonder what happened to him?

Forgive my ignorance but what is a "trans person"?

Can't say it is statistically significant, but the lesbians and gays of our church seem to get along quite well. OTOH the few trans we have are social outcasts.

There are far more gay men than lesbian women, for whatever reason.

Lesbians set up the own march not because they're not welcome at pride events, but because they wanted their own. They felt overshadowed at gay pride events because it is mostly men. They're all welcome and encouraged to attend the gay pride events (that I know of anyway). Lesbians are basically a minority in a minority. And gays aren't (typically) dismissive of them, they just outnumber women.

Anyway...There are primetime lesbians - Chicago Fire has no gays but it does have realistically-portrayed Lesbians. Same with a little-known show called Grey's Anatomy. Ellen and Rosie O'Donnell have (or had) popular talk shows. House had one. The OC had one. Not to mention shows like The L Word.
There may be more gay men, but there are a lot more "bisexual" women.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that 70%+ of bisexuals, male or female, primarily or perhaps exclusively have sex with men. This is based purely on anecdotal evidence and not on any kind of rigorous data.

                        As for transexuals,

all of these sentences can be replaced with "I need attention" and mean the same thing

                          "trans person" ? Transgender?

It's real. I've seen it in small children who know nothing about sex and sexual identity.
I kinda figure it's a messed up gene or something like it.
We should be patient and try to help people with this condition.
                          I'm sympathetic to this condition.
