  • NPR Science Fiction list (or, nerd up!)

So in the vein of the DFG Nerd thread: How many of the top 100 NPR Science Fiction/Fantasy books have you read? I would count the opening work of a series even if you didn't finish the series (but finished that entire one book).

More than 5,000 of you nominated. More than 60,000 of you voted. And now the results are in. The winners of NPR's Top 100

I got an 87, counting 3 that I didn't finish the series of (Wheel of Time, Game of Thrones, Sword of Truth, though I read enough of the latter that it had petered out before I finished reading).

Only 33, but lots of good suggestions for reading.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Yeah, there was a bit of recency in that list. Find/make a better list

Well, the list had "Something Wicked This Way Comes" so it's not that bad

Nice flowchart, I remember seeing that somewhere (perhaps at SFSignal, who I used to read an RSS from before that RSS disappeared)...

One of the issues I have with this is that series count the same as standalone novels.

Weird list. Two Stephen King novels?

                      My total = 59.

Not bad, considering how little pleasure reading I've done the past 20 years.

Apparently it is from SFSignal, but my search there ended in failure and the link in my link was broken.

I thought I'd have higher considering I'd read the first 5 on the list, but my score was 25.

                          ACK!

43, but I eliminate almost half the books as I am not much into fantasy and tend to avoid them.

                              7. I don't read much fiction and when I did, it tended to be among a few authors.
