  • Mid-Performance Update

Got a summary of my graded events. Out of a company of 274 Lieutenants, I am currently ranked 13th in academics, 53rd in military skills (primarily due to only being a sharpshooter with the M9 pistol leading to an 86% grade [97% with M16A4, though]), and 10th overall.

    Top 4% so far. Yut!

Wait... I got those exact same scores. The military is lying to us. Tomorrow, let's just abandon the whole thing and pretend it never happened.

Wow. The quality of Marine Officer candidates has really declined.

he won't be done with training before the last deployments are over/already started.-

Oerdin referred to you as a candidate because even though you have a gold bar you're not branch qualified (or whatever the marines call it). So anyway, are you a finance officer or what?

The Army does not have an analogue to our training. MOS selection is two months away. I do not know what reserve billets are available yet but I'm inclined towards 1302 Combat Engineer Officer as my preferred MOS. The reserve battalion HQ is in Baltimore with companies in Virginia.

No matter how you or Oerdin want to degrade me, I am not an officer candidate. I stopped being an officer candidate when I commissioned.

The other thing is that it has been traditional for reserve officers in the top 5% of their class to be meritoriously augmented to active duty by the SECNAV. It's still early but top 5% is definitely feasible considering it requires me to simply maintain my current standing.

When do you start appearing on all those marine gay porn sites?

Even in an environment where they're just not taking new officers for active OCS? Everything I've heard is that the reserve to active move in all branches is impossible right now, except for people moving to the active National Guard for their state from drilling status within the same state.

Honestly, I have my fingers crossed for you in that regard, because compared to your previous jobs, O1 active pay is actually pretty good.

Good job. I keep expecting to see a link which we can all go to and take the same tests and compare scores. And everyone would seem to post better results.
