    *hands out popcorn*
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Most people are certainly not at Apolyton. This place is dead.

Doc does have a point. People used to listen and try to see others point of view. Now it is just "if you don't agree with me then you are a moron" type attitude. There are some really smart people here...many of whom have made me question my own thoughts on subjects. I seem to be the minority when it comes to that. Closed mindedness is one of the reasons that I believe that posting on this site has drastically decreased since I first got here years ago.

The problem is that the only new posters are spambots, and we already know the opinions of the old posters - it's not like somebody who has been posting here for ten years is suddenly going to say "I've just had an original thought on abortion/racism/North Korea/alien abductions/whatever."

Plato did actually change some points of view relatively recently, which is totally outside of the norm, here or elsewhere.
Socrates: "Good is That at which all things aim, If one knows what the good is, one will always do what is good." Brian: "Romanes eunt domus"
GW 2013: "and juistin bieber is gay with me and we have 10 kids we live in u.s.a in the white house with obama"

Thanks OneFoot! I do try to actually think about the opinions of others. The world views that you can find on Poly are diverse and usually pretty well thought out. It is the intransigence and self righteousness of some people that gets depressing sometimes.

I'm not really sure yet. By nature, I am an optimist though.

I blame a lot of it on those who just post articles to troll. They aren't interested in having a conversation. They just want to say, "look at this 'authority' that says I'm right and you're wrong." Then there are those who think they've figured out the world's problems while farting in their couch cushions. They will write a long, ignorant treatise and will berate you if you dare question them.

PLATO, I disagree with you on several topics, but at least you post your own thoughts and are generally willing to discuss them. This is because you are intelligent.

I'd say my opinions on things have changed over the years I've been on here. Mostly subtle changes, and not all (or even most) in reaction to arguments here, but changes nonetheless. In any case, Doc "Muslims and ******s" Feelgood isn't really in a position to talk when it comes to narrow-mindedness.
