I'm really sorry he died so young, he was a great actor.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Kudos to him for living his life the way he wanted (I'm certainly not one to judge) but let's not pretend taking an aspirin a day is going to overcome those sort of choices.

The tragic thing here is his fatherless thirteen year old son. He did live life the way he wanted, period. Once you're dead, it doesn't matter what you did or did not do, other than how how it affects the people you left behind.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Yup. And he was a fat selfish ******* for not taking better care of himself.

The only selfish thing he did was have a child.

Is it true that vodka thins the blood and leads to a long and happy life?

Having children is only selfish when it happens in the third world.

It's always selfish. You are creating a person who, if things go right, will view things as you do and love you your entire life and take care of you when you're old. They don't ask to be born and you don't ask their permission to raise them in your image. You do so knowing they will live in the same crap world and be forced to leave everything behind when they die, same as you. They are your ultimate monument to yourself.

Odd view coming from a conservative.

I figured the selfish people, in your mind, would be the childless ones who expect society's social welfare system to care for them when they become old decrepit bastards.

And also, they would be selfish because childless people spend all their resources on themselves rather than caring for another soul.

I don't have a strong view on this. I think it's a matter of perspective.

The truly selfless are those who spend their resources helping those they do not know.

Why? They are just promoting a culture of dependency, right? Regardless of whether it is public assistance or private, helping others is immoral.
