Having checked part of that video. It seems they finally managed to make interactive movies.

Those games had interactive cut-scenes perhaps. As I recall it, it basically amounted to choosing an option every once in a while Mark Hamill was being exposed as a shoddy actor.

I'm actually tempted to watch the entire video of The Last Of Us. The cinematic value is pretty good.

Tie Fighter had a pretty good story, though...

It wasn't a good game because of the story.

Good stories are always ancillary. Good games are good games despite their stories... not because of them.

I ought to report that post simply for your appalling taste.

I would argue appealing plots enhance games rather than detract from them, Sava. It's not an end all and be all but to argue that a game is good despite having a good plot misses the point. IMO Batman: Arkham Asylum / Arkham City qualify as good games with good plots as well.

I don't know if the story is good and the premise of the game certainly is standard fare, but from what I've seen the screenplay is excellent and the characters are believable. There's an emotional connection I haven't witnessed in any other game. Heck, it even seems to pull it off better than most mainstream movies.

I'm actually enjoying it. It's true that you can watch a Let's Play and get a lot of the experience, but Let's Plays are a form of copyright infringement anyway. You can steal a movie and get the same experience as paying, too. And that's not mentioning the multiplayer, which is a lot of fun on its own.

Judging by Sava's posts, he needs medication.
