People all over the word say that your election is meaningless as well. No matter who gets elected, its the big money lobbies who run the country.

Must be an easy way to distract from the fact that your own country is a huge sack of ****.

Simply put, the idea that money runs US elections is ludicrous. You need money to win an election, but people who donate money run across the political spectrum. You need votes to win far more than anything else. The fact that political parties have become relatively similar reflects this more than anything--they appeal to the middle because they need to pick up more than 50%. Furthermore, the way congress votes isn't based all that much on money, it's based on voters in their district, who are often motivated by federal pork.

In any case, the guy who ACTUALLY runs the country of Iran handpicks a small group of people, and the voters pick one of them. It's not democratic in the slightest.
