50 inches is still far too small for 4k to make a difference. You don't need a 50 inch computer monitor, and you don't need to be sitting 18" away from a TV.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

30-40 years ago, "remastering" may have required professionals using expensive equipment. Now... perhaps even an iPad could do it.To us, it is the BEAST.

If anything, it might make anti-aliasing useless. But that's just for gaming, not movies. To us, it is the BEAST.

Your 30" monitor is a foot away from you. In most cases, the TV is 5-6 feet away, or sometimes more. That's the problem - you're talking about a different market segment than I am. You're talking about ~5% of the market, and while the more well off segment largely, still a small segment. I'm talking about ~95% of the market... that's where 4K will hit issues. I do think it will be adopted, and I think there will be more and more sets available, but I don't think you'll hit the tipping point where all of a sudden content is widely available in 4K for 10+ years, unless something changes in either technology or content distribution.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

I went to college with Nick Shepkowski (Danny Mac producer). He's a friend of a friend. I hung out with him once. It's nice to have that little six degrees of Kevin Bacon going on.To us, it is the BEAST.
