What's the best way of silencing a 6 inch inline fan? I mount it to studs and I just get this resonating hum. How can I reduce this?

The points of contact are two parallel surfaces about 2x12 inches each. Are there pads of some sort that I can cut to fit this shape?

If that doesn't work, hit it harder.
