Ugh. Unfortunately, 1998 is after the point where Card started to suck more. (Ender's Shadow is an exception.)

I liked the book, it was a bit simplistic, but it was highly entertaining.

I don't think any of his other work (at least that I've read) really holds a candle to Ender's Game (Shadow being a possible exception). The rest is uneven; The Lost Gate (2010) is great fun (its sequel is OK, but rehashes ideas from his earlier works), while Xenocide and Children of the Mind were serious weak links in the Ender series, especially if one is finicky about scientific plausibility. And, to be fair, Card's an author, not a screenwriter. Anyway, now that I think about it,

        Spoiler:
The "know our strategies" bit is more troubling. In the books, the fundamental inability of the two races to relate to one another was the whole cause of the war. Even at the final battle, they wrongly assume that humans would never sacrifice individuals to achieve an objective--with the result that the squadron of fighters they tried to ensnare wiped out their planet. That line makes me wonder how much they chopped out or changed.

Marines have a hard-on for Ender's Game. Never read it.

So get crackin', biznatch. Then read Starship Troopers as penance for not doing it earlier.

Starship Troopers is another popular one. I read it when I was 13, though.

Yeah Ender's Game is even on the Commandant's reading list for Private through Corporal:

Ender's Game is one of my all-time favorite books. Top five, at least. It might be my favorite book.

I never thought Ender's Game was homoerotic enough for jarheads.

I would say "Speaker for the Dead" is just as good, if not better.

Yes, but all of your opinions are terrible and wrong, Imran, aka the person who thinks the Star Wars prequels were better than the original trilogy.

Likewise. You are like the right wing Oerdin.

I'm not even that conservative, man. Maybe by poly standards. But to be the right-wing Oerdin I'd have to read conservapedia, hate illegal immigrants, and think gay marriage is as bad as abortion. And also get all my news and opinions from Alex Jones and Breitbart.com. Since my politics are almost identical to Kuci and Jaguar's, your comparison is nonsensical.

Fact: Whenever you announce that you like something that we also like, Kuci and I carefully re-evaluate our position on said thing.
