    Question for British Polytubbies:

    Did any of you watch Thorne?

    I've been a fan of the book series ever since it first crossed the pond several years ago, and just found out they made the TV series. Wondering if it is worth my time to find it somewhere.

      But HOLY CRAP!!!!!! Right now EVERY Inspector Clouseau movie(not the dreadful Steve Martin movies) is on Encore On Demand!!!!

      Guess my day of viewing is now set.

        I saw most of the first one, "Sleepyhead". It looked pretty good, but I missed the rest.

              Though, I must say my like for this movie is a bit odd. I hate Chevy Chase. I hate Steve Martin. And I've always thought Martin Short was an annoying little troll.

                    He was funny in 'Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid'. I laughed precisely twice during 'L.A. Story' which was exactly the number of times I laughed during the Leslie Nielsen/Linda Blair 'Exorcist/Omen' pisstake. Perhaps 'Roxanne' is funny, but as I had to study the French original at school it has made me extremely allergic to most anything to do with Cyrano de Bergerac or modern updates/remakes of same.

                          Steve Martin is deeply unfunny. It's no accident that I haven't watched any of his films since Dirty Rotten Scoundrels back in 1988. Planes, Trains and Automobiles was good, but that was probably down to John Candy.

                          Anyway, he found his niche of moronic humour appealing to moronic people and grew very successful out of it - so good for him that the US is full of simple-minded shmucks - just like the people that like Repossessed...
