So your expectations are to blame.

Not as if the Alien series was a triumph of script writing .

I would like proof that any part of the Alien series had anything as bad a biologist who encounters an alien life form that he describes to his ship's crew as "four feet long, reptilial, with translucent skin," and his first instinct is to try to play with it.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Remember the first movie, where Kane touches the egg. It hisses, so he backs off and waits. Then it opens up, so he sticks his face in it so the facehugger can get him?

I expect a scifi movie of the caliber to somewhat have a story line that makes sense.
This movie left more questions than answered.
Hiring that guy who wrote that LOST show as the writer was a mistake.

                You don't get it.
The idea of the facehugger was unknown at this time. The audience did not know what was in the egg, as should be with a thriller/mystery/horror movie.

Damn. I was so excited when I saw the thread title.
I was hoping for Oblivion as in The Elder Scolls Oblivion.

I want to see this still, as long as the aliens aren't allergic to water or something like that.

Beautifully filmed and perfect for the big screen. Quite slow moving and once you work out the twist (fairly easy), you start noticing the myriad contrivances and implausibilities that are required to be shoehorned into making the story work long enough while you're watching it. Starting with the uneasy feeling you have right from the beginning:
                      Spoiler:
Like why the **** there's such a skeleton crew working on what is supposedly something of critical importance to what remains of humanity? Which actually sort of makes sense once you realise what the central plot is, but then opens up even more implausible questions.

I enjoyed while I was watching it though: 8/10

5/10 now that I've thought about it for a bit. In fact, the more I think about it, the more dumb I think the whole story is: don't think - just watch it for the sumptuous cinemascape...

Oh and Prometheus sucked big huge donkey balls while I was watching it, although it was also visually stunning.

I liked the game. I couldn't be bothered to check if someone already made this comment though.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
