Gee, maybe because border security has been dealt with over and over and over again, with good results, so once again bringing up that red herring is just their obvious excuse to avoid passing the needed (and unpopular with the Republican base) immigration reform bill? Do you think?

That's it! That's the plan to stop illegal immigration! Obama really is a genius! The illegal immigrants won't come here if things are better in Mexico! Wow, and I thought he was just a misguided liberal.

If Republicans want Operational Control of 30% or something than they should say so.

              And defend it.

I don't happen to think it is a reasonable metric.

One would think immigration would be an issue Republicans would have in the bank. Pro-capitalism: make the free flow of labor across borders as easy as possible. Pro-freedom: the poor, oppressed masses flocking to our freedom loving freedom free free democracy.... freedom. Anti-government: The government is too inefficient to properly handle the influx of immigrants. Reformers to the rescue!

How they manage to botch this issue like all the rest... really takes skill at being bad.
