I can only imagine how little he might be afraid of a Democratic party challenge to his seat.

Oh he is a ~*~military veteran~*~ how nice. That's great. Nobody (should) care. I bet he was only in for his initial enlistment.

          Why would you assume that?

Which would beat the hell out of the chickenhawks and chickenchokers from both parties who get a stiffy from sending others off to do the dirty work they're too precious to do themselves.

MtG, you can talk about chickenhawks all you like but let's face it: a) Congress already has a ton of former officers (and a few former enlisted), adding some E-4 does not add to the sum total knowledge of the military in Congress. The biggest hawks like John McCain are not chickenhawks.

McCain Chickenhawks Leadership and both parties' executive branches of late have been full of chickenchokers or chickenhawks. Look at the GOP candidates in 2012 also.

Yes, 2012 was the first election in a long time when neither presidential nor vice presidential candidate had any military experience, even in the National Guard.

Who cares? Boehner is in a solidly red district.

And Boner could perhaps find himself in primary trouble too, if he can't keep his masters happy or if the further right side of the Republican party thinks he's too wishy-washy and willing to sell out their principles.

He would give a damn about a primary challenge. This, not so much.

Tag team effect. Without a primary challenge, I don't see him losing sleep at night.
