  • Inspired by the Falkland Islanders, three votes for the devil in first round of Papal voting

Let's hope old Lucifer doesn't get momentum. The black smoke was from the spare ribs the cardinals had for lunch. Apparently the chef is working for the powers of hell. This could get ugly.

Of course I know many of you would say the papacy is a work of Satan. Who can say?

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Presumptively Satan could say, but he doesn't have a reputation for trustworthiness.

Looks like the Church is coming out of the closet.

Maybe the new Pope could be like "the Pope" and old Pope could be like "the anti-Pope"

Might as well. I think it was a huge mistake of Benedict XVI to step down. The legitimacy of the Catholic church is based on the fact that they are out of step with social reality. Now people might get the idea that the Pope is like any other elected leader that you can ask to step down or perhaps even demand reasonable arguments from. They'll end on the skid row in no time. In ca 2050 the election will be aired live like cardinal Big Brother and the Pope (or Poppie, as I will be called by his fans) will frequently be seen in the Sun.

That 'prophecy' appears to say the next pope will have to clean up after a destroyed church or something like that, how that turned into an idea of him being the "antichrist" I do not know, though I've heard that before. Anyway, it looks like cardinals so far went at lengths to make their choices fit with that prophecy, so they'll come up with someone special I'm sure

I am but like many catholics in the west I don't care about what goes on in the Vatican or who is Pope.

The only pope who could be considered christian would be the one that immediately dissolves the catholic church as it exists today
