That would have made more sense than just dicking around in the south the whole time. If we had invaded the north at the start we could have ended the war, won it, and gone home.

If only they'd had you in charge back then, instead of all those generals and hyper-educated advisors--still flushed with post-WWII American invincibility and unable to conceive of defeat at the hands of a batch of "gooks"--who for some baffling reason declined to invade the north even after spending years at war in the region.

The reason we didn't invade the North had nothing to do with what any generals thought, Elok. LBJ was an incompetent dumb****. He also micromanaged the hell out of the military, to the point of actually managing bombing raids.

Well, we tried the "invade the Northern aggressors" strategy in Korea, and it worked out pretty well there, right?

If only he'd been Spiritual, he could have done a quick switch to Police State to quash that war weariness. But he was too far behind from switching to Nationhood already. What were his traits, anyway? Organized and...something? It sure wasn't "charismatic."
