It's common knowledge that these things are giant floating toilets. Wasn't it just last year when that one ran aground off the coast of Italy? And it seems like once a month I see some ****ing story about dozens of people getting violently ill on a cruise ship. What kind of ******** would go on one of these things?

And the one in the Gulf of Mexico... they should torpedo that ****. The sinking of that giant diarrhea barge might just improve the water quality off the coast.

    Poo disperses oil, right?

I don't know why CNN is covering this story like it's some god damned school shooting. How many deaths? Zero. How many paralyzing injuries? Zero.

Boo hoo, you're knee deep in ****. THATS WHAT YOU GET ****FACES

Next time, go to ****ing disneyland with the rest of the obese cracker fed pig ****ing **** balls.

        here
The first lawsuit against Carnival Cruise Lines has been filed and it is expected to be the beginning of a wave of lawsuits against the company. Cassie Terry, 25, of Brazoria County, Tex., filed a lawsuit today in Miami federal court, calling the crippled ship "a floating hell."

"It's degrading. Demoralizing, and then they want to insult us by giving us $500," Veronica Arriaga said after disembarking the ship.

I cannot believe that CNN thought this was worthy of 24 hour news coverage.

And one of the buses carrying 'rescued' passengers away broke down. At that point I started laughing, although I had tittered when it was confirmed that some of the passengers were thinking of litigation. No, really, in the U.S. ?

              You jest.

Look, I've been stranded in an airport overnight. It ****ing sucked. No, I was never stuck in the trenches in World War I. No, I'm not a holocaust survivor. But hey, it was uncomfortable, irritating, and extremely inconvenient and ended up costing a decent amount of money. And that was just one night. I'm not gonna pretend it was a personal tragedy, but if I were stuck on a **** filled ship in the tropics with no AC, little water, no sanitation and awful food I'd be really pissed off too.

I think we should be glad it wasn't a transatlantic or transpacific cruise that had this problem.

The point is: it's a LUXURY cruise.

So those involved are basically the well-to-do, inconvenienced. I think Sava's on point in noting that it's important not to confuse this occurrence -- basically a failed consumer goods/services transaction -- with actual tragedy. When a large ship has such problems, it's news. But the whining of the individuals on board, not.

CNN and other news sources could be doing more news coverage regarding third world conditions.
