Wait, what the hell is the point of marine option NROTC then? Also it seems really ridiculous that the marines would use OCS as the primary officer pipeline.
Hopefully you will overcome your crippling fear of guns, swimming, and driving.
What is the point of NROTC? It pays for your college education. Marines don't have a college loan repayment program (there was one briefly a few years back but not before or since).
Why would it be ridiculous that the Marine Corps would use OCS as the primary officer pipeline? There's no dedicated Marine ROTC, no Marine Academy, OCS is the only way completely controlled by the Corps. I don't understand what you find 'ridiculous' about it? Just because the Marine Corps is not the Army and doesn't do things the Army way, that makes it ridiculous?
OCS allows the Marine Corps to control the entry-level experience of future officers. Remember how I messed with you about ROTC being some military classes in a civilian world? Exactly. OCS is not the same as ROTC. The Marine Corps puts every officer in the officer equivalent of Parris Island for a reason. The ROTC experience is insufficient.

"I have nothing against Wilson, but he's nowhere near the same calibre of QB as Flutie. Flutie threw for 5k+ yards in the CFL." -Ben Kenobi
The U.S. Air Force uses dextroamphetamine as one of its "go pills", given to pilots on long missions to help them remain focused and alert.[7][8][9][10] The Tarnak Farm incident was linked by media reports to the use of this drug on long term fatigued pilots. The military did not accept this explanation, citing the lack of similar incidents. Newer stimulant medications or awakeness promoting agents with different side effect profiles, such as modafinil are being investigated and sometimes issued for this reason.[7]

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
My brother was in the Army back in the beginning of Operation IF, and he agreed with the 'speed' bit. Not necessarily actual speed, but basically everyone there was doing all sorts of questionably legal/safe uppers. Usually in combination with things like alcohol.

ROTC includes several weeks of your "Parris Island experience." It's just that constant indoctrination isn't necessary to teach that stuff. Especially for people mature enough to get a college degree.
The Academies on the other hand are four straight years of that stuff so that definitely should be enough.
