It was several years ago but, yes. He said Hezbollah wasn't a terrorist group and instead it was just a Lebanese self defense group. You are misremembering.
You are probably remembering the only two high profile cases with Bulgarians and assasinations. The pope shooting and the Georgi Markov ambrella assasination. Our guy was acquitted in the pope shooting trial.

I'm scared of any kind of bomb... whether it rains down on my from an unmanned drone or if it's strapped to some nutjobs chest.
In their entire history, I don't think Hezbollah even comes close to a tenth the civilian body count in one bombing conducted by the Allies in WW2.
