From what I've been seen the two main reasons were the Republican threat to default on the national debt as part of their "Waaaaa! We lost the election!!!!" temper tantrum and then the effects of hurricane Sandy on NYC and northern New Jersey. The biggest part was the Republican tantrum though as many defense contractors cut back spending or even laid people off in expectation to the budget cuts which never happened. It's funny how last month Republicans kept repeating the talking point how "uncertainity in the markets" over tax rates could harm the economy but now deny that threatening a national default and demanding massive spending cuts does the exact same thing but more so.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate. -
