    91 as of this post.

Assuming no late claims for 2012 the 9th death of 2013 will claim the award.

      ACK!
      There is... when they die.

Anyone can pick 20 names no one else will pick.

Elok did it last year although he didn't get any hits.

He is old. Old doesn't really cut it though for a Dead pool though. Old and sick is the combo that pays.

Ralph Klein has oldtimers and Joyce Fairbairn (one of my subs) has advanced dementia.

Of all my unique picks I'm actually the most pleased with Dennis Frederiksen to be honest. He has inoperable cancer.
Let me guess.. You got that from his website?

Fergie the Faker. He's been dying right through his attempt to reclaim fame. I'm not impressed (I had him on my team the last couple years).

Ian Brady is the same. I thought he wanted to die?

Theme teams can be fun to compile but difficult to score with.

Tuberski has a much more competitive team than Elok's of last year.

My take on it. Not confirmed of course.

I seriously considered removing Ronnie Biggs this year for the same reason. For a man released from prison on compassionite grounds to go home to die he sure is taking his bloody time about it.

Two themes that work well: inoperable cancer and dementia.

Ian Brady won't die any time soon. The guy is force fed, on suicide watch and detained. They everything beside wrap him up in cotton wool.

He will be kept alive in the mental hospital. That's what his hearing this year was to be about - He wanted to be moved to a regular prison where he could starve himself.

Then the poor baby couldn't make his hearing because he wasn't feeling well? WTF!?

I am surprised and disappointed that Erich Priebke was not a unique pick.

TBF he did have a seizure, and it can take a few days to recover 100% mental functioning and mood stability after that.

I'm allowed editorial comment. It's one of the perks.

Ronnie Biggs didn't even make the alternates. In 6 years, I've only listed him once. I demoted Jerry Lewis, Patty Andrews and Rev. Billy Graham to my alternates list.

However, I've kept several picks that are now more tradition/stubbornness than anything else:

Fidel Castro -- my personal reigning champ, picked all 6 years: 2008-2013. He may, in fact, be immortal.
Vo Nguyen Giap -- 5 straight picks: 2009-2013. He's now over 100 years old.
B.B. King -- picked 5 out of six years (missed 2010). Trying to keep him alive through my protection...
Kirk Douglas - picked 5 out of six years (missed 2010)
                              Zsa Zsa Gabor -- 4 consecutive (2010-2013)
Run Run Shaw -- 4 consecutive (2010-2013). Also a centenarian.
                              Nelson Mandela -- 4 times (2009-09, 2012-13)

People expected to die because they are no longer protected by being on my 2013 list:
                              Ali Khamenei
                              John Paul Stevens
                              Ruth Bader Ginsberg
                              Patty Andrews
                              Fats Domino
                              Refrigerator Perry
                              Henry Kissinger
                              Jerry Lewis

May God have mercy on their souls.
                              Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011
RIP lest we forget... SG (2) and LaFayette -- Civ2 Succession Games Brothers-in-Arms

I won't be playing this year for the obvious reasons.
