And next time a shooting such as this occurs, you going to feel bad about that as well or are you actually going to think of ways that it could be stopped? Or will you accept that this possibility exists when you have such easy access to weapons that facilitate mass murder, as a price your society pays? Because that's exactly what it is, a price, and your feeling sad is nothing more than a cultural buyers remorse.

Forcing people like the Newtown and Aurora shooters to be involuntarily committed would have also saved lives yet I don't see any big push to rethink Addington v. Texas.

Think of the tax increases to pay for the prisons.

Who says it could be stopped? Surprisingly that was not foremost in my mind. What was foremost in my mind was to take the advice/example of POTUS and spend the time I had with my family this weekend enjoying them and reflecting on how precious they are. Unlike the assertions of some Euro trash POS with an agenda, looking to make cheap points. If not plain enough, STFU or continue in this vein and continue to prove how classless you are.

20 deaths from 20 shooters is worse of course, because it means 20 people have murderous intent. I'm confused by why the two have any parallel however. You don't only have people dying in mass shootings, you have an endless stream of individual killings every day.

It's classless to want to see people not be murdered? Because that's all it is Ogie. Other societies have lived through these instances of murder and found ways to mitigate future events and that's a good thing. But the continued reactions of Americans to these tragedies wears thin: you don't even try to stop them from reoccurring and are then surprised when they happen. And you want Sympathy and Understanding?

Those families that have been split apart get that. The rest of your society doesn't get a free pass.
