  • The Pacific island that never was and why you should believe not Google Earth

It even had its own google earth photo. But when a research vessel went out there this year they found nothing.

The phantom island has been on charts for over 100 years. The original mistaken charting, in a British Admiralty chart, has now been tracked back to a ship that reported an incorrect position for a another island in about 1890. The island has been on charts of the remote area of ocean ever since.

But how did it get in Goggle earth?????????????

A small island in the Pacific ocean which has been shown on maps for 10 years never actually existed according to a team of Australian scientists.

What about the people that are living there?!?

I just checked it out. It's colored black. To save space, what Google Earth does is fill in the oceans with a non-photo texture, and then wherever its coastline database indicates there is land, it includes photographs.

I look at atolls all the time, that one shouldn't be there IF they really use satellites to take the photos...

Almost surely this is Atlantis, built by aliens and where the US shot the moon landings. This story is a government cover-up necessitated by Google Earth finding out the truth. Think about it ... it's the perfect cover story ... blame some sailors that are all long since dead. Yah, like we can really ask them to verify the story ... and you fell for it!

I was wondering how long it would be before the moon landings were mentioned...

It was the Kraken. Sam Worthington bored it to death. Or something.

EDIT: Just realized there was supposed to be a sequel for that wretched remake. I think it actually came out at some point, but the whole thing was so bland that I simply can't be sure.
