  • You need more rubber Texas, it's too slippery

Congrats with your new F1 race track. It looks like it will be a good one in a couple of years. At the moment the drivers have problems staying on track.

The ultimate destination for racing and entertainment. Home to Formula 1, MotoGP, Germania Insurance Amphitheater and COTA Karting.

Is rubber Texas sold by volume, or weight?
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I haven't read about the race, but I haven't heard any severely negative reports.

Well, My OP wasn't meant in a negative way, just as a more or less bad joke

The race was actually pretty good and the track has a chance to become a classic (i.e. the drivers like it and lots of close race). New asphalt is quite slippery but it looked like the practice and qual made it drivable - even turn 18.

It's a really good circuit. They got it right- I'd say only Spa beats it.

IIRC Kimi did a really big hairy ball overtake at the last Spa - did the same here, so they are probably comparable (or finns are simply ice cold)

WTF is a "hairy ball overtake"?

Please explain slowly enough for a dumb Aussie to understand.

NASCAR makes more sense to me than F1 racing.

It's where a driver decides the laws of physics are just an optional frippery, and goes for it.

Not the race... I mean the culture surrounding the "sport".

I fully understand the whole "I'm a stupid cracker" thing. I even understand the appeal of watching things run around in circles for hours. You ever swing a cat toy around for a cat? Making circles with your head as you watch something spin around is fricken awesome.

But F1? What's fun about that?
