  • Because only a ****ing idiot sits and takes abuse from their opponents when their opponent did the same damn things just a few short years earlier?

    • I agree Bush is an idiot. He should have held his ground circa 2002-3 when the Dems were all about expanding the bloat of government by creating useless Homeland Security beauracracies via 9/11 commission hearings. Especially considering the Dem's "hindsight is 20/20" rational employed for USS Cole Bombings and 1998 Embassy bombings of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya.

I guess you have to ask yourself if your opponents are Al Qaeda or Republicans. If your opponents are Al Qaeda, then you'd prioritize learning from your mistakes. If your opponents are Republicans, then you'll be happy scoring cheap points with misleading propaganda.

Sure, because the Republican are shining beacons of bi-partisan idealism.

Seriously listening to you ****ers sometimes is like listening to Gary Glitter lecturing a parent about how they should treat their kids better.

          • Republicans suck. Democrats suck. Neither party is worth defending.

I was curious why he thought you were a Republican.

Just wanted to point out the hypocrisy of some who criticize people now, for using the "hindsight is 20/20" excuse when some used that same excuse in defending Bush with 9/11.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

                  That was actually Bi-partisan.

That's not how it works. If your political opponents work with you on something that turns out to be good, then they are weak and reluctantly gave in to your wisdom. If they cooperate with you on something that is a massive disaster it was completely their idea, and no matter what the voting records/interviews/video evidence etc say, you had no part in it.

                    • I think it's unreasonable to criticize Bush for the events on 9/11, but he certainly deserves blame for the response. The DHS, TSA, and the war in Iraq were all costly blunders. Too bad Obama isn't doing anything about the first two.

No. In an effort to score cheap political points for the Presidential runup in 2004, Bush was roundly reviled for his resistance to increasing the size of the bureaucracy with respect to 9/11 findings. It was a given talking point of the Dems during the 2004 campaign. As if not doing so meant Bush was a) either soft on terrorism or b) grossly incompetent.

You may argue both are true, but not for the reasons of advocating building more innefficient governmental bureaucracy vis-a-vis all the 911 commission recommendations.

He's libertarian. Which is why he makes sense most of the time.

Um.. what?! DHS was pushed for by Bush. Ridge was made Assistant to the President for Homeland Security in October of 2011 and Bush then pushed for a cabinet level office of Homeland Security. And the Homeland Security Act was cosponsored by 118 members of Congress - most of them weren't Democrats, FWIW.
