  • Ah, the sweet, refreshing smell of Heaven in the morning

Heaven has beautiful blue eyed women!

Dr Eben Alexander, a Harvard-educated neurosurgeon, fell into a coma for seven days in 2008 after contracting meningitis.

During his illness Dr Alexander says that the part of his brain which controls human thought and emotion "shut down" and that he then experienced "something so profound that it gave me a scientific reason to believe in consciousness after death." In an essay for American magazine Newsweek, which he wrote to promote his book Proof of Heaven, Dr Alexander says he was met by a beautiful blue-eyed woman in a "place of clouds, big fluffy pink-white ones" and "shimmering beings".

He continues: "Birds? Angels? These words registered later, when I was writing down my recollections. But neither of these words do justice to the beings themselves, which were quite simply different from anything I have known on this planet. They were more advanced. Higher forms." The doctor adds that a "huge and booming like a glorious chant, came down from above, and I wondered if the winged beings were producing it. the sound was palpable and almost material, like a rain that you can feel on your skin but doesn't get you wet."

Dr Alexander says he had heard stories from patients who spoke of outer body experiences but had disregarded them as "wishful thinking" but has reconsidered his opinion following his own experience.

I approve of women in heaven
Socrates: "Good is That at which all things aim, If one knows what the good is, one will always do what is good." Brian: "Romanes eunt domus"
GW 2013: "and juistin bieber is gay with me and we have 10 kids we live in u.s.a in the white house with obama"

Meh. I can get the same effect from drugs in a fraction of the time.

What, you believed that women couldn't go to Heaven?

There is no heaven. Women can go wherever they want as far as I'm concerned.

I was referring to the out of body experience.

When I saw the thread title I started wondering what Heaven would smell like, and concluded that it might as well not smell like anything as far as we're concerned. Let's say that Person A's favorite smell is that of roses, and Person B's favorite smell is that of lavender, and they both die and go to heaven. Rather than muck about with all of the paradoxes and contradictions that would ensue if he were to make Heaven smell like both roses and lavender at the same time, it would make much more sense for God to not modify Heaven's natural scent ("eau de angel fart"), but to instead modify Person A's scent receptors to register "eau de angel fart" as "rose," and to modify Person B's scent receptors to register "eau de angel fart" as "lavender." Then the only remaining problem is if Person A and Person B disagree with each other about what Heaven smells like ("I say it smells like roses." "Oh yeah? Well I say it smells like lavender"), but considering that they both made it into Heaven it's a safe assumption that the argument won't escalate ("Ah, who cares what it smells like, let's go swim in the Lake of Whiskey" "Oh, you mean the Lake of Vodka? Splendid idea.")

There is a scientific explaination for that, so not the same thing. Way to miss the point.

Wouldn't that merely be Russian heaven?

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

I disagree. Kurt Colbain, Corey Haim, Amy Winehouse, River Phoenix, et al. found heaven through drugs.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

People who prefer the smell of lavender or the taste of vodka will be sent to Hell. That's a much simpler solution.

Why do people claim that all famous people except those universally reviled go to Heaven?
