IIRC (and I haven't seen him much, or in a very long time) his "humor," like Coulter's, is typically a lot of "ha ha look at these idiots whose opinion is different from mine." When people laugh at him, it's not actual humor but self-congratulation manifested as laughter. Real humor takes you away from yourself--your brain gets caught in a loop for a second and you laugh at absurdity without regard for who or what it represents. It may target someone, but spitefulness actually detracts from the humor, and if you can't laugh at yourself you're no comedian. In that respect Maher and Coulter are the opposite of funny; the best I've heard either manage is cleverly phrased snark. Which, to be fair, I've been guilty of myself, on more than one occasion.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui View PostIIRC, he used to be funny, but isn't so much anymore.

I guess the difference is that Maher picks actual dumb things conservatives do and makes fun of them. IE, things that I, as a conservative, think are dumb. Coulter picks things that liberals do that aren't actually dumb...<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
