  • Judge Dredd 3D

Wow! I'm really impressed by this movie. I thought it would be just another remake as the campy first one with Sylvester Stallone.
The acting is good and the story is also good.
Now, it is also the most graphical violent movie I have ever seen and I've seen many movies. An example of a scene is a slow motion of a bad guy getting shot in the face and the bullet exiting the cheek. This is a very realistic filmed gunshot wound, the most realistic I have ever seen in a movie ( I have seen my fair share of GSWs ). This is just an example and there is much more violence and gore than most will be comfortable from a movie. I won't give away the plot but I do recommend if you're not bothered by blood and gore.

    Critical reception

The film has garnered a 77% approval rating from 117 critics – an average rating of 6.5 out of 10 – on the review-aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes, which said, "Fueled by bombastic violence and impressive special effects, rooted in self-satire and deadpan humor, Dredd is a rare example of a remake that actually works." Metacritic provides a score of 57 out of 100 from 27 critics, which indicates "mixed or average" reviews. CinemaScore polls reported that the average grade moviegoers gave the film was a "B" on a scale of A+ to F.

I don't do gore anymore. Action, comedies are more my preference. I saw Taxi Driver. That's the worst movie that I ever watched.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead

Did you see Expendables 2? I liked it - I thought it almost bordered on self satire, like True Lies.

This is the scene I speak of in my above post.

I saw it Saturday. Holy smokes was it a good movie, it didn't pretend to be anything other than what it was: A shoot-em-up. They even managed to pull off having Dredd wearing his helmet the entire time.
