  • Sick: Farrakhan invited to Chicago

America is a sick society. Men like Emanuel are simply mad.

How many converts to this cult, to this black KKK, do we want to see? How many brown shirts "keeping the peace" will we see? As many as necessary as Emanuel thinks necessary to 'keep the peace.' Will they keep the peace when they grow from this tragedy?

Emanuel is partaking in a collective act of societal suicide, supported and endorsed by a political party that has lost sight of reality, that now works openly with the Nation of Islam, to achieve results. Collective suicide, nothing more, nothing less. The consequences of bringing more power to this group are simply horrendous.

This is a man who was chief of staff to the President of the United States.

    This is simply sick.

“The police have a role to play. Tearing down abandoned buildings has a role to play. Shutting liquor stores that are a cancer in the community have a role to play. Community leaders have a role to play. Pastors have a role to play. Principals have a role to play. And most importantly, parents have roles to play. They have decided, the Nation of Islam, to help protect the community. And that’s an important ingredient, like all the other aspects of protecting a neighborhood.”

    Truly sick.

Protecting the community? The implementation of this logic is destructive to democracy and civil society itself.

You want a safe community-pick up the phone and give Rudy Guliani a call.

"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

I don't even know what you're talking about because your link doesn't work. But thank goodness we can call up someone who was a mayor during a national decline in crime rates.

      Fixed.

And get a grip. The former chief of staff to the sitting President just invited the Nation of Islam to his city to "play a role." What role will the Nation of Islam play in the nation's future? Thanks to the Democrats: a bigger one than ever before. This is utterly, utterly sick.

This is what you're being facetious about. This is the man whom Emanuel has invited. This is Chicago's saviour, "protecting the community." Goodness knows what will become of that community now.

Saying even more things to piss people like you off.

No, but seriously, this is called diplomacy. We don't want to end up like Isreal.

With some people there can be no compromise or diplomacy, Kidicious. Some people are not open to reason. That is the lesson of World War 2. It is the lesson of the Sudanese genocide. It is the lesson of every genocide. When a man spouts Hitlerian nonsense in a democratic society he should not be compromised with or coddled. The dangerous consequences of his gaining power or influence far exceed any supposed benefit that might accrue by his presence. That is the lesson the Israelis have learned in dealing with many of their enemies. Sometimes there is no peace, only a struggle against evil.

Well in the US we believe in power sharing. That's one of the principles that this nation was built on. This is a republic.

Power sharing via the democratic process is an excellent thing. Endorsing and empowering madmen bent on the destruction of civil society and democracy itself is quite different from recognising that democratic politics requires compromise.

Sorry but that's woefully naive. The Israeli's have had to fight constantly for the last 70 odd years because the world community hung them out to dry time after time and now act shocked that Israel has become a nation that feels it has to react to every situation with defensiveness and force. I don't blame Israel for that in the slightest, but let's not pretend that the whole thing couldn't have been sorted out half a century ago if the rest of the world had taken a different approach.
