the first movie confused me enough
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

So are toothache, a death in the family and drought. That doesn't recommend them as pleasant or artistically satisfying experiences.

I watched this movie last weekend, and while I thought it was quite enjoyable I don't think it was as good as the original movie. This movie seemed more cut and dry that it wasn't Rekal, that it was real. Also, in the original movie it seemed like there was far more reason to send Hauser undercover. While obviously the special effects are far superior to the original, and the acting was competent enough (also kate beckinsdale looked absolutely amazing, and jessica biel was hot too), it lacked something. This movie was somewhere between a reboot, and a reshoot...and I think a reshoot might have been better in this case.

Having a gravity elevator connecting Australia to Britain seems about as likely to happen as setting up a colony on Mars, so to me they should have just set it on Mars. Also why is it a very short flight across open land from a perfectly clean urban center to a hazy chemical weapons stricken wasteland, with no obvious barriers, domes, or anything else to stop the diffusion? Oh well. I saw Loopers on first look and that might be interesting.

              You mean this situation?
