What about this rover that is different from the last rover?

I'm curious what you're going to do when private companies like Space X decide to do things like sell their technology to the Chinese government or just start providing services to countries that America dislike.
Why would I have a problem with the United States being the industry leader in an export market? Or an American private company competently providing what used to be a government service?
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

        Biggest, most advanced, hardest landing.

The method of landing was extremely complex and precise, and in addition the entire robot is vastly more sophisticated and capable than the previous ones.

Gentlemen, we now possess the ability to drop a compact car anywhere on the planet.

Would you be happy to sell the designs for stealth bombers or attack helicopters to China? How about your air defence stuff? So why exactly would you be ok with someone selling space technology?

How about for one thing you're putting yourselves in the hands of a company that can basically hold you to ransom, as they will be the only people who can provide that service to you, outside of foreign governments (the same foreign governments you keep calling enemies)?

Given the endurance demonstrated by most of these rovers, and given this one uses a power system similar to the Voyager probes, it's possible that it won't die of old age before I do.

$$$ are nice and also their rockets aren't weapons?

Furthermore, SpaceX would just sell the rockets, not the tech, which is totally fine by me.

No, the awesome thing about them being a private company is that if they start getting uppity we can just switch to one of the three or four others that also are developing ISS resupply craft. SpaceX just happens to be the best at the moment.

Unless China just decided to buy the company you mean?

No, SpaceX just happens to be the only company at the moment. You're basically hoping that the other companies who are working on similar tech will be successful in providing a similar service. Not even SpaceX have landed a manned vessel at ISS yet.

It can detect little green men or microbes

Congress often intervenes when foreign countries want to buy our tech companies.
