  • Don't use Facebook

Facebook is basically a secret policeman's or intelligence officer's wet dream. Government security services around the world just love it. The information people post there about themselves is priceless.

Of course if your life is so uninteresting that you are unlikely to ever be of interest to the authorities, happy facebooking

Personally I don't use any online social media. I know how it's used.

Sadly the internet is becoming less and less of a private and free space every day.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

          It's the one marked "thanks".

Good to see you Horsie, I thought we lost you again. Following the Olympics?

I set up a Facebook page. I haven't looked at it since.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Even one of Zuckerbergs own sisters stays away from Facebook

Arielle Zuckerberg's venture into tech with Wildfire Interactive highlights the growing influence of family ties in Silicon Valley.

Only stupid people put information on social sites that they shouldn't. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it. Facebook is still a good way for friends to connect. Don't let paranoia prevent you from enjoying such things.

I've used FB to reconnect with a lot of old friends, and run FB pages for several clients.
Since I'm not operating outside the law, I don't feel too paranoid about it.

But I do try to avoid all the stupid apps and games, and don't post about travel etc.

I don't Facebook, but I do enjoy reading/watching posts about setting fire to police cars or rioting in general.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.
