  • How to suck at your religion

    The Oatmeal nails it.

"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I'm a big fan of The Oatmeal, but that one was not my favorite.

It's everything that half-way intelligent people realize about religion at about age 14. And it doesn't address it in a way to make believers question themselves. It's designed for smug atheists to go 'right on!' but not to affect any change.

I'm pretty sure it's just a web comic.

The only thing unique and noteworthy was that it was finally explained that when homosexuals have intercourse it causes a Nickelback album to be released. Other than that, meh.

Well, that was heavy-handed and stupid.

Some people probably don't like how it hits too close to home.

I'm not even remotely religious; I just don't think it's a particularly funny strip.

The artist doesn't make any pretense of changing the world or making profound, unprecedented arguments with a web comic. It's just supposed to be funny. Sorry if you didn't like the jokes.

Everyone is their own judge on what constitutes humor. This by and large was not it.
