It's a meta-meta joke. The joke is that it's unfunny and that no one will get that it's funny that it's so unfunny. Just like this post is a meta-meta-meta (and meta) joke. The joke is it's super unfunny to make unfunny explanations for meta funny unfunny jokes.
I do however find it somewhat disturbing how you all seem to think that natural disasters and threads about them should be funny though
